Tumblr Hair

We all catch ourselves scrolling on Pinterest or Tumblr looking at the complicated but super insta-worthy hair and thinking, "What if I could do that? Nope too much work." Come on, who's with me? I'm going to be showing you Tumblr inspired hair that's easy so no need to stress about super complicated styles! I've got you covered!

Tips:

  • Always start with clean, fresh hair
  • If your hair needs some extra bounce add some texturizing spray or dry shampoo(also useful for dirty/day 3+ hair)
  • If you have finer or thinner hair then a heat protectant spray will really help your locks from being fried
Dutch Braid

How to:

  1. Start with taking 3 small pieces from the very front of your head.
  2. You're going to french braid regularly, but the trick to this is instead of braiding the pieces over each other, your braid them going under so it creates that 3D popping up effect!
  3. Keep continuing till you get to end of your hair, tie off with an elastic and you're done! I pulled the actual braided part out so it could look more chunkier and bigger.
French Braid into Side Bun

How to:
  1. Part your hair into a side part
  2. Start by french braiding a small piece of hair from the side part and continuing it down the very end of your hair, tie it off with an elastic. I pulled the braid again to make it a little more thicker but you can do whichever you prefer!
  3. Take that braid and pull it back to side of your head and take the rest of your hair and put it the side where that braid is resting.
  4. Twist your hair and tie an elastic around it to secure the bun, if needed use bobby pins and  hairspray!
Helpful Note: If this part is too complicated for you it also looks good without the bun too! Just pin it to the back of your hair and voila! Beautiful!

Top-Knot

How to:

  1. Flip your head over and gather your hair and put it into a high pony tail.
  2. Take the ponytail and twist it around to make a top-knot, tie around it to make sure it doesn't move around or get loose.
  3. Secure with hairspray and bobby pins and you're done!
Note: Since I have super thick hair so I only need one elastic to make a top-knot! I flip my head over like I'm doing a high pony tail and then I bring it up and twist it, then tie it off. It's one smooth motion so it's not as complicated as it might sound.

I hope you learned new tips and got inspiration from this post! If you recreate any of these looks send us a picture! We'd love to see it! Thank you to Ciara for letting me user her as my model! Subscribe and don't forget to follow us on Instagram @topshoptulip! Until next time,
