Zara's Summer Blouse

Heat is the #1 setback when it comes to buying clothes during the summer. Choosing between looking stylish and feeling miserable vs. feeling lighter than air but looking less than fabulous isn't something I'm willing to compromise. The blouse (and look) being featured today is ideal for strolling around the city, getting coffee or lunch with friends, and any other occasion where you may need to be slightly more dressed up (bottoms will vary)!

May Favorites

It seems like ages since I've been on the blog and I've missed it so much! I wanted to share with you some of my go-to's that I've been using the past four weeks. Stay tuned to find out what I've been loving!

Mario Badescu Rose Water Facial Spray
This spray is so refreshing and smells like a bouquet of roses! It makes a great setting spray after you've completed your makeup. Keep this close by because once you've got it, you won't let it go!

COCO Mademoiselle Chanel Eau De Toilette
Scent is something that people will always remember and this by far is my favorite. The packaging is beautiful and you only need a few spritz in the morning or night, depending on you're occasion.

I've gone through my fair share of mascaras, high end and drugstore, and I was so pleased when I tried this one out. I have shorter lashes but this mascara lengthens and thickens while separating my lashes, plus it's waterproof!

Vintage Nordstrom Sweatshirt
I'm not a huge fan of sweatshirts WITH hoods because of the fabric bunching up around the neck, but when I saw this one, I fell in love with it immediately. Vintage sweatshirts in general are really cool, but the baby blue color and size makes it stand out even more!

I'm not a jewelry fanatic, but when receiving this for my birthday, it was the perfect bracelet. The silver twisted band is simple and dainty, when paired with the black studs at the end it creates a more striking look.

I love reading, and I love fashion. This book combines meaningful insight about the behind-the-scenes former/current editors of Vogue and stories that will touch your heart like they did mine as well as moments beautifully captured by the camera.

Summer Stitches

Embroidery seems like it is going to be a big hit for summer. It can look beachy or feminine, colorful or add a small touch. So when I saw this cropped pair from Jag Jeans, I had to have them.

For this look, I wanted to focus on the jeans, so I paired some simple pieces with it. Espadrilles and a tank top make room for jeans while still saying summer and sun. I love the geometric pattern at the bottom of these jeans. It's subtle yet you can still make the jeans the statement!

I really can't wait for summer, only a couple more days of school! We can't wait to share our summer with you.

A-frayed of Cold

Today, JAG Jeans has you covered for your ideal cropped jean for spring/summer of 2017. Stay tuned to see a chic and feminine look...

Although Summer is only a few months away, it's never too early to start wearing cold shoulder tops!! The white top I'm wearing from Nordstrom has form fitting sleeves that taper at the bottom creating a bohemian effect.

Since there are some cold days here and there, I paired the top with these cropped, frayed jeans from JAG. The slits at the bottom of the legs are a detail that's important because it's nonrestrictive, making the jeans even more comfortable.

Making this completed look a bit more feminine, I'm wearing a pair of black suede heels that elongate the legs and bring the eye to the frayed hem.

His 'n Hers

Top: H&M Skirt: Zara Sandals: Mango Accessories: Topshop

Today, we're showing you his and her looks based off the colors blue and lilac. These colors are perfect for spring/transition colors for summer... enjoy!

Blue, found in various shades, is a color that can be the main vocal focal point or be a small but crucial detail in a look.

For the women's look, we've paired this striped midi skirt with a lace feminine blouse that's light and sweet for spring. The vividly yellow purse creates an even more cheery look as well as contrasting nicely with the skirt. Along with a pair of simple black sandals and flower-drop earrings to glamorize and finish off the look.

Now as for this men's look, we used these bright navy trousers from Bonobos and a salmon top to incorporate some lighter spring colors. To keep the attire classy, a pair of black oxfords was added for a crisp take. Last but not least, a black and rose-gold watch that adds a timeless detail overall. This look is ideal for a warm spring day or for a semi-formal event.

Top: Zara  Jeans: Zara  Sandals & Bag: Mango  Others: Topshop

Lilac's beautiful pastel shade complements the floral notes of spring that is subtle yet sometimes unexpected.

In this look, we took this girly lilac tank and paired it with these jeans. The pearls and the lilac together create a very feminine look. To add back some edge, we took some black sandals and a belt. Florals are no surprise for spring, which is why thought some earrings would be more subtle, yet still bring in the spring vibes. The bag is both edgy and girly, combine black leather with floral touches. Together, this look is perfect for spring and circled around one of our favorite spring colors.

Coat, Pants, Shoes: Topman  Top & Belt: Nordstrom  Watch: Michael Kors

For the men's look, we still used the lilac for the top. We opted on pairing neutral colors with it for a toned down look, with a light pop of color. The browns and the grays complement the lilac perfectly. The coat allows this look to adjust to the weather, whether it's colder, or almost feeling like summer.

A comfortable and colorful top is the perfect staple for the spring time as we transition to summer. Wearing a top that could be worn with shorts, or jeans, is ideal.

I took these pictures while I was in Maui, Hawaii. The beautiful island went so well with this bright shirt, and stay tuned for a Hawaii photo diary!
This peasant tee is from Jag Jeans and is so soft! I love that it was so easy to pair with these shorts as well. As I said, having pieces that work great for that period where it's not hot enough to wear shorts and a tank top, but not cold enough to wear jeans. I chose to wear these fun sandals to match the bright island vibes. So cute! This is my take on a transitional spring/summer outfit! Let me know what your go-to transition look is!

Puerto Rico Travel Diary

I recently got back from a trip in Puerto Rico and wanted to share with you guys my adventures! I've been to Hawaii before and the Island of Puerto Rico reminded me so much of Oahu. I highly recommend Puerto Rico or any of the Caribbean Islands; the water is turquoise and the plants/trees are really beautiful as well.

We went to the city San Juan and walked all over town. The town is so cute and the buildings are painted with vibrant colors, as seen below. Some of the streets are cobblestone and perfect for taking pictures!

I went to the beach for 4 days and had a blast! The water is turquoise and nice for cooling off from being in the sun all day. At night we went to Bioluminescent Bay and went snorkeling; later we got to shake the water and it would glow from the ocean "phosphorescence," planktonic forms emitting light when the water is shaken.

Pineapple Pina Colada in a pineapple!
